One Charming Party....
Supplies: spray adhesive, the printed faux pumpkin pies, disposable aluminum pans with cardboard/silver lids
Directions: Click on the images below to download the faux pumpkin pie top. To print the pumpkin pie top, email the file to any photo center (such as Costco) that prints in a 12 x 18″ photo size. Get the lustre finish. Cut the pie shape out and glue to the top of the cardboard/silver lid, on the white side, with spray adhesive. Fill your container with toys and prizes for the kiddos. Put the pie lid on top and crimp around the metal edges to keep the lid secure. Disposable aluminum pans can be found at most grocery stores.
*This is a jpg image that you can print at a photo center. Visit the actual blog link below and Click on an image below to pull up the jpg picture, then right click to save the image on your computer. Let me know if that works for you!
Don’t have any small children at your Thanksgiving table? You can also use these as take home containers for your guest to store their Thanksgiving leftovers. And stay tuned for directions on the candlestick centerpieces. Photos by Nicole Hill Gerulat. Pie photo by Sara Westbrook.

Blessings abound in November!
You can personalize the main pendant as is shown with the number of children you have, and the accent pendant can hold up to 4 names. It will come as shown, or the other option is for it to just be in black and white.
Please leave us a comment regarding Blessings and Thanksgiving and what/how you will be teaching your children this holiday. You can earn 1 additional entry by bringing signed Christmas Cards from your children for our soldiers and turning them into Michelle Bucholtz. She will make sure they get sent to our troops and your kiddos will surely be a blessing to the recipients!
Here is a little info on the cards and what they are for:
Holiday Mail for Heroes Program
Starting this fall and throughout the holiday season, the Red Cross is working with Pitney Bowes, a mail stream technology company, to collect and distribute holiday cards to American service members, veterans and their families in the United States and around the world.
The process is very simple and takes no time at all - All you need is a pen and piece of paper to share your appreciation for the sacrifices members of the U.S. Armed Forces make to protect our freedoms The Holiday Mail for Heroes mail box is open and ready to receive for your cards.
Good Luck Ladies and have a wonderful week full of joy!
XOXO

A Duteronomy 6 House
Deuteronomy 6:4-9 says this:
4 “Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! 5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
This month our family is sitting down and talking about scripture, yes we talk about the Bible regularly, but we are picking out scriptures and making a list of our favorites. This list will be broken down to a select few that represent our family the best right now. It may be something we want to aspire to, something that we feel makes us happy, words of encouragement, words of wisdom. We have not yet chosen our "family verse," that is what will become our family creed so to speak. But our deadline is November 30th!
We will then take that verse and we will be creating a piece of artwork that we can hang in our home. This artwork will become a part of what our family wants to represent. It will be something to remind us of Deuteronomy 6 and how we should eat, live breathe, walk, talk, even dream the Lords word. This is especially important for our kids to experience. Right now those little bugs are craving knowledge and what better way to give it to them than by leading by example. You are their current #1 Hero, their eyes and ears are open to you more now than they ever will be. This will be a creative way to work with the kids and let them play a role in learning the word and applying it to their space and then seeing it daily.
I hope fall brings you and your family close together and that you stop and take the time to enjoy it and to have a few lessons each day using God's word to guide you.
Happy Fall & Many Blessings,
Amber

Pretty Little Eggs
So it is almost time to break out the messy dyes from the cheap-o box of easter egg dying kits, the peeps, the chocolate bunnies, and all those jellybeans! Or not . . . lets get a little creative here and think outside the box! What if there were a really cool way to create georgeous beyond belief easter eggs that are not only a breeze, but clean too! I have a blog for you to check out (because I have way too much on my plate to go back through my pictures and post directions for you)! Head to your local thrift shop and snag some .50 100% silk ties and get ready to chop em' up :) "Our Best Bites" has the best tutorial and the best step by step images to help you create "TIE" dyed eggs worht swooning over. My only input would be to blow your eggs . . . (for those who might be worried about the safety of the tie print transferring to your egg).

Happy Easter Creating,
Robins Nests
Here is my simple guide to beautiful and traditional Robins Nests that your kiddos will adore, cherish, and remember for years to come.
Supplies:
Parchment Paper
Candy Melts-Chocolate, Caramel or Peanut Butter ( I tend to use chocolate)
Chowmein noodles
Cadburry malted eggs (they look the most realistic and are traditional, but you can use the whopper version if you know your kiddos love them).
*Peeps (only if you want, these I added just for our little ones because they adore them)
Large Cello Bags (or medium treat boxes)
1st and foremost, lay out a long stretch of parchment. Then follow the directions on your candy melt package ( I use these because they are easy to work with and set up fast, they are fail safe and you can add other flavors). Next, my son likes to lay out bundles on the paper ( I like to mix my chowmein right inside the bowl because it is cleaner) then drizzle some chocolate right over the bundles. The messy part is up next. use your hands to mold little nests and then add your robins eggs to the center. You may need to add a little candy melt to get your eggs to stick, but I think you only need to do this step if you are sending these off and they will be traveling. Let these set for at least 30 minutes before bagging or boxing them up. I recommend laying a piece of parchement under each nest to keep it from sticking and making your bags less than pretty.
Have fun and enjoy making new traditions this year!
Resurrection Cookies!
**This picture was borrowed from Petit Chef***
Easter is hopping it's way on over! So get ready for a few weeks filled with Easter crafts, fun, and memories! To get you started here are resurrection cookies. Don't wait til' the last minute to read this one... it is specific and you have to follow the steps closely to be able to tell the story. SO read it over and be ready ahead of time. Hoppy Easter my friends! May yours be blessed beyond measure.
This is a great recipe to teach your children the REAL story of Easter. That the Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior, is not dead but has Risen. We serve a Risen Savior…
So Grab your Apron and Let’s Get Started!!!!!!!
You will need:
1 cup whole pecans
1 teaspoon vinegar
3 egg whites
a pinch salt
1 cup sugar
a zipper baggy
1 wooden spoon
scotch tape
Bible
Instructions:
These are to be made the evening before Easter. Preheat oven to 300F.*** (this is very important —
don’t wait until you are half done with the recipe).Place pecans in zipper baggy and let children beat them with the wooden spoon to break into small pieces. Explain that after Jesus was arrested. He was beaten by the Roman soldiers. Read: John 19:1-3
Let each child smell the vinegar.
Put 1 teaspoon vinegar into mixing bowl. Explain that when Jesus was thirsty on the cross He was given vinegar to drink. Read: John 19:28-30
Add egg whites to vinegar. Eggs represent life.
Explain that Jesus gave His life to give us life. Read: John 10:10&11
Sprinkle a little salt into each child’s hand.
Let them taste it and brush the rest into the bowl.
Explain that this represents the salty tears shed by Jesus’ followers, and the bitterness of our own sin. Read: Luke 23:27
So far the ingredients are not very appetizing.
Add 1 cup sugar. Explain that the sweetest part of the story is that Jesus died because He loves us.
He wants us to know and belong to Him.
Read: Psalm 34:8 and John 3:16
Beat with a mixer on high speed for 12 to 15 minutes until stiff peaks are formed. Explain that the color white represents the purity in God’s eyes of those whose sins have been cleansed by Jesus. Read: Isaiah 1:18 and John 3:1-3
Fold in broken nuts.
Drop by teaspoon onto waxed paper covered cookie sheet.Explain that each mound represents the rocky tomb where
Jesus’ body was laid.Read: Matthew 27:57-60
Put the cookie sheet in the oven,
close the door and turn the oven OFF.
Give each child a piece of tape and seal the oven door.Explain that Jesus’ tomb was sealed. Read: Matthew 27:65-66
GO TO BED!
Explain that they may feel sad to
leave the cookies in the oven overnight.Jesus’ followers were in despair when the tomb was sealed.
Read: John 16:20&22
On Resurrection Sunday (Easter) morning, open the oven and give everyone a cookie. Notice the cracked surface and take a bite. The cookies are hollow! On the first Easter Jesus’ followers were amazed to find the tomb open and empty. Read: Matthew 28:1-9

Coach Randy Myers March 3rd 2011
30 Years of Coaching Kids and Their Parents
Meet Coach Randy MyersHaving spoken to over 200 organizations, Coach Randy Myers is a sought-after parenting coach and motivational speaker. His “EMPOWER” coaching system empowers parents to coach their children to be who God created them to be.
Over the past 30 years, Coach Randy Myers has been teaching kids how to play tennis and training their parents in the process. The more time he spent on the court…the more he started to have opportunities to share about life principles that would help each child succeed in life. He quickly realized that tennis was a powerful way to make a positive impact in the lives of both kids and their parents.
“I love coaching kids, because they are so open and easily molded. I’ve found that the three skills of modeling, instructing, and encouraging my students has empowered them to be great athletes and great kids. As I started teaching parents these basic skills, they started seeing the same results off the court!”
Raised in a family of 9 brothers and sisters, Randy grew up in southern California enjoying a lifestyle of tennis from an early age. After playing on his high school and college teams, he opened his first private tennis club at the age of 22. Through years of dedication to his students and the sport, he worked his way to become the head tennis pro at Palisades Tennis Club, and he is currently the Director of Tennis at Mesa Verde Country Club in Costa Mesa, California.
Randy and his parents attended church until the time he was in 8th grade. Although he believed in God, Randy didn’t understand much about Jesus until much later in life. At 45 years old in the midst of marital challenges, Randy re-connected with God in a profound way and began following Jesus. After a 9-month separation from his wife, Randy was given a second chance by God to try things a different way.
Randy and his wife of 27 years, Debbie, are happily married with two grown children (Randy and Jessica), and they reside in Costa Mesa, California.
“There’s a need for parents to step up and intentionally lead their children. They don’t need to just be their child’s friend. They need to be a leader. Having been raised in a secure, loving home, I was relentlessly encouraged by my parents as they led me toward a great life. Because of that, I’ve become the man I am today.”

Gettin' Crafty in the Kitchen!
Add individually wrapped candy for feet...
Embellish your robots...
Add some robotic messages and you have a fabulous valentine!
*************************************************************************************
I know this totally sounds like we were baking...but the truth is we craft in the kitchen. Literally, we paint, cut, glue, and design in the kitchen. Today we started some Valentines Day fun! We did a few store bought assembling of Valentines Day cards because the hubs assured me that it was Uber cool to get to pick out the years theme, and at $2.50 for premade Valentines with suckers included (30) why argue. Obviously it was a pretty fabulous childhood memory for him so we went for it. I on the other hand I like a little creativity to flow from every holiday there is. Soooo we got crafty in the kitchen creating some Robot valentines! The best part is that the attached treats double as utilitarian robot parts :) So I thought I would share this little craft with you. Just print and cut out the template and let your kiddos get creative with the candy and random household findings. Try foil, paperclips, twist ties, pipe cleaner, buttons, and card stock. You will also need either a low temp glue gun or glue dots from the craft store....and some individually wrapped candies.
Have Fun!
